ABOUT
Born in Brooklyn in 1960 and a life-long resident of NYC, photography has been a passion since the age of 8 years old. My earliest photos were inspired by the neighborhoods and streets of the city. In the beginning I used a basic manual viewfinder camera and discovered a love for black and white photography. A crude makeshift darkroom was created in the basement of my childhood home using cooking supplies and an old slide projector as an enlarger.
Eventually moving into color photography my love for black and white film and working in the darkroom never died. As I grew more excited and committed to the field my equipment was upgraded and more time was spent pursuing my interest.
When Digital photography first became popular I was very hesitant to join in but have since started to utilize it in my art. I now enjoy working in both digital and film mediums, each offering its own unique challenges and creative opportunities.
